Summer Game Fest 2024: June's showcase schedule

Updated: Jun 9

It's real this time. E3 is fully, properly buried — so is "Not-E3," for that matter — and there's nothing we can do about it. Geoff Keighley reigns supreme at the top of the pile, having won the naming rights for a week's worth of gaming showcases.

Once again, we're stockpiling supplies (snacks, caffeine, you know the drill) and standing at the ready to provide that patented VGG coverage for you all week long.

A schedule image listing out the times and dates that VGG will be streaming along the showcases. This information is listed later in the article. In the upper right of the image, the VGG banner logo can be seen with its 1970s lava lamp design. Below the banner, little chibi avatars for each of the hosts, drawn by the artist Rincs, can be seen.
Check out our co-streaming schedule, with live reactions and discussion all week by Naetoid, Fernfolk, and FishpasteGG!

So what's happening at Summer Game Fest 2024 and how is VGG covering it?

As with the past few years, VGG Editor-in-Chief Nate, Deputy Editor Julie, and frequent VGG guest streamer FishpasteGG will host a fun watch-along with live reactions and immediate quickfire analysis for all of the big summer gaming showcases that will be streaming from June 6-10.

It'll all take place at twitch.tv/Naetoid.

You've got indies and Wholesome, you've got Keighley's Summer Game Fest, you've got Volvy and his big hand for gaming. We're seeing specialized presentations showing up in a big way, with the likes of the Access-Ability Summer Showcase in its second year and the Summer Game Fest debuts of Latin American Games Showcase and Women-Led Games Showcase. We'll see just how Xbox will try to give audiences any amount of confidence in their future, amid painful studio closures and layoffs.

But most importantly, we'll be sharing a glimpse into the next year (or more!) of exciting creativity in the games industry, and that's always what is most electrifying about this time of year.

Below, you'll find a full schedule of the events and showcases we'll be livestreaming. If you want to keep up with us any time we go live, follow us on Twitch and you'll be notified of it all.

VGG's Summer Game Fest 2024 Wrap-up

TO BE ADDED IF ANNOUNCED:

Capcom Showcase, Nintendo Direct, EA Play, Square Enix Showcase

But SGF is much more than streams — the bags under our eyes by the end of the week are proof enough. During and after all these presentations, we'll have written recaps, previews for a variety of indie games that might get lost in the shuffle amid hundreds of games featured, and a steady stream of VGG game reviews from now until the end of the month.

In fact, Steam Next Fest kicks off almost immediately after the SGF streams stop, with countless free game demos and developer interviews going live on Steam from June 10-17 at 10 a.m. Pacific — so you can expect a handful of our mini-previews to pop up then. June will be a non-stop Summer Game Fest for VGG, we can promise that much.

If you miss any of our streams, you can always catch our reactions and recap/breakdown segments from each stream on YouTube later.

I said it last year, but it bears repeating this year: Phew. That's a lot. Like, a lot a lot. We hope you'll be with us through it all this week, because we love sharing in the live moments of new announcements with our community, and this time of year is one of our favorites.

The Summer Game Fest key art. It has one multicolored bubble in vibrant and sparkly orange, pink, and seafoam green gradients. More bubbles and almost like spilled-paint blobs surround it in countless shades of yellows and golds, blues, pinks, and oranges.
